DBS, Singapore’s largest bank by
assets, has launched what it says is the first credit card in
Singapore to offer a combination of regular payment services and
contactless payments for both retail services and local public
transport systems.
The Live Fresh Visa payWave Platinum card,
which combines Visa payment, Visa payWave and EZ-Link services,
will also allow customers the chance to pledge discounts earned at
dining establishments to a designated children’s charity.
A DBS Live Fresh Facebook group has also been
set up in a bid to encourage take-up among younger customers.
As part of the launch, DBS has upgraded its
entire ATM network “to enable the cards to be easily topped up for
transit applications”, said Rajan Raju, group executive of the
consumer banking group at DBS.
