Canada’s TD Bank Group has chosen Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform to power its digital transformation.
With the Microsoft platform, the lender intends to enable its technology and design teams gain secure access to data and artificial intelligence (AI) resources.
The aim is to support the bank respond to evolving customer preferences.
TD has already been leveraging Microsoft’s Office 365.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said: “Our strategic relationship will enable TD to deliver on its vision to build the bank of the future with the power of Azure, our trusted cloud, to quickly adapt and respond to changing customer needs, and builds on our existing relationship that is focused on empowering TD employees to be more productive and collaborative with Office 365.”
Recently, TD carried out several initiatives to enhance its digital banking experience.

Earlier this year, the bank added a chatbot to its mobile app.
The chatbot uses Kasisto’s conversational AI platform.
Last year, TD purchased AI start-up Layer 6.
TD group president and CEO Bharat Masrani said: “Our strategic relationship with Microsoft will help accelerate and fuel new and innovative banking experiences for our customers, clients and colleagues.”
