Digital banking platform Technisys has announced the acquisition of Kona, a company that delivers banking solutions to clients in Canada and across the Americas.

The financial details of the transaction were not divulged.

The acquisition will integrate Kona’s conversational AI capabilities on the Technisys platform, enabling the latter’s banking clients increase customer engagement.

Technisys CEO and co-founder Mike Santos said: “This acquisition continues to solidify Technisys as a core and digital banking platform leader.

“With Kona’s conversational AI capabilities, Technisys will continue to empower financial institutions to deliver differentiation via tailored product offerings that address the unique needs of each and every customer, dynamically, in whatever channel the customer chooses.”

Technisys, which has delivered the core and digital banking platform Cyberbank, has a presence in 16 countries. According to the company website, the US-based firm provides Cyberbank digital banking and core platforms to more than 50 customers.

Last year, Technisys announced that Canada-based ATB Financial launched its digital banking app Brightside using Cyberbank platform.
