Temenos, the core banking software supplier
has teamed up with CSC, an IT service provider to improve delivery
and service capabilities at German, Austrian and Swiss
banks.

The agreement aims to provide faster and more
cost-efficient core banking solutions at select banks in the
regions.

The partnership will build on and support
Temenos’s T24 system, a German platform which provides specific
regulatory requirements for German-speaking territories.

Christian Steineback, vice president of
financial services at CSC said: “Banks are facing the challenge of
replacing their legacy systems and are under increasing pressure to
consolidate and provide cost-effective means of managing their core
banking systems.”

He said the agreement will strengthen CSC’s
presence in the market and provide banks with the right
solution.

Temenos is an active player in the core
banking market and in the last few months alone has struck up
agreements with Capgemeni, a provider of consulting, technology and
outsourcing services, Luup, the mobile payments provider and
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, the country’s largest
lender.

Neither firm disclosed what banks are involved
in the process or cost-savings made from using the software .
