Australian bank Westpac has expanded its voice technology offering to the customers by launching Westpac for the Google Assistant.
The new service will enable the customers to check their account balances, details of recent transactions and reward points through a Google Assistant-enabled device.
The customers can connect three eligible Westpac accounts with their Google Assistant account.
The new hands-free access service will enable customers to ask various questions to the Google Assistant to receive details about their saving account.
However, they cannot transfer funds or make payment by using this service.
Westpac Group chief digital and marketing officer Martine Jager said: “We’re always looking for new ways to help make our customers’ lives easier, and are committed to giving our customers even more choice and flexibility when it comes to their banking.”

The addition of Google Assistant complements Westpac’s suite of voice-based banking technology.
