Citi has bagged a SmartPay 3 master contract from the US General Services Administration (GSA) to take part in the next generation of government charge card and payment solutions programme.
The new master contract will allow all US federal agencies to use Citi’s card and payment services from late 2018 to 2031.

The GSA SmartPay 3 master programme comprises purchase, travel, fleet, and integrated charge card services and related payment solutions which will be used by about 560 government agencies and organisations.
Using the new programme, the US federal government can access a number of payment solutions, such as ‘chip’ enabled charge cards, virtual accounts, single-use accounts and declining balance accounts.
The cumulative value of the GSA SmartPay 3 contracts is $700bn over the entire length of the contracts, including all extension options.

Since the inception of the GSA SmartPay programme in 1998, Citi has participated in the programme and served over 300 unique agency programs under the GSA SmartPay 2 contract.
